Owner, Renee Perkins, is proud to provide a small, woman-owned business with a mission to help the environment through recycling/reusing existing children’s merchandise, giving families a place to easily consign and make money with their unused items and surprise and delight customers with the unique boutique shopping experience and amazing bargains.

The combination of the continued recession and the green movement has helped the resale industry grow. The Funky Frog, Children’s Resale Boutique is proud to be able to offer the widest selection of high-end items in one of the largest children’s resale stores in the area. Our consignors provide our shoppers with clean, unique, barely-used clothing, toys, baby gear and more. Now that school it back in session, The Funky Frog has new hours... Monday - Friday 10:00 - 6:00 PM (open over the lunch hour!!) and Saturday 10:00 - 4:00, closed Sundays. On occassion, it may be neccessary for Renee to close around 3:45 - 4:45 but we will post a note on the door and on our facebook page when we need to do that! Thanks!!

The "I'm A Rochester Kid!" photo contest kicked off in October and has 18 great little kids gather votes! Top 3 girls and top 3 boys will be announced on November 9th. Then the race for Grand Prize will be on - great prize packages are up for grabs for a boy and girl. Runner-ups will also get prize packages. But the honor of riding The Funky Frog's Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade float is the real prize. On December 6th, the Grand Prize girl and boy will be part of our "8 Maids a Milkin'" float! Special Musical Event for Friends of Frog & Their Tadpoles!!

The Funky Frog is please to announce that YOU, as Friends of the Frog, are invited to a special invitation-only FREE demonstration class of Music Together® by Mini Musicians director Jenna Barba. Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them.

We would like to invite you and your little ones to come and make beautiful music on Monday, August 24th. We will hold three 1/2-hour sessions. RSVP is required, space is limited to a maximum of 15 children with caregiver. Please select one session below.

Mini Musicians is enrolling NOW for the Fall semester of Music Together/Mini Musicians classes which begins September 15th at the EDE and Kiddie Klub locations. Regardless of your own musical background, they will show you how to discover your child's innate musical ability as you create beautiful musical memories together.

A semester of Music Together will bring you and your child the excitement of new music and activities, a beautifully illustrated songbook along with two copies of the recordings, a positive early childhood music education experience with a quality instructor and a chance to meet and make new friends.

Over 300 Boutique Brand Items On The Floor

The Funky Frog strives to bring you the boutique brands you love. As of August 9th we had over 300 boutique brand items on the floor for your review. With the new system of marking those high-end items with red markers on the hanger necks, you can easily find them in the sizes you need. So if you love Oilily, Hanna Andresson, Polo/Ralph Lauren, Baby Lulu and more you will spot them as soon as you walk in the store! The feedback so far is that this new system really works for customers. Stop in and let us know what you think.

Local Retailer and Citizens Give Back and Recycling

Rochester, MI – The consignors of The Funky Frog, Children’s Resale Boutique in downtown Rochester, MI not only recycle their high-quality, gently-used children’s clothing but they donate what doesn’t sell to local charities. On July 22, $2,336.00 worth of children’s clothing was donated to The Clothes Closet at Rochester Area Neighborhood House. The Funky Frog offers is consignors the service of coordinating quarterly donations of unsold items to local non-profit groups.

The new owner of The Funky Frog, Children’s Resale Boutique, Renee Perkins, is happy to continue to bring the Rochester area the best children’s resale boutique while giving back to the community. The Funky Frog is a wonderful way for consignors to make money on their items, customers to find great deals in these trying economic times, for us all to recycling clothing to reduce our contribution to landfills and to give back to the community.

The Funky Frog has been part of Rochester’s retail scene since May 2007. The boutique strives to satisfy the varied needs of residents, offering everything needed from maternity wear to children’s clothing, toys and baby gear.

As an adoptive mother, I am always looking for ways to help those in need of a home. The Funky Frog has provided another way for me to help...by adopting your unwanted FROGS!!

If you have stuffed frogs, frog figurines, lawn ornaments, framed pictures or frog clothing that you no longer want please donate them by dropping them off at the store during business hours and we will happily provide a loving home for them among our growing population of frogs.

The Frog Gets "Greener"

How you can support your favorite charity and help save the planet one bag at a time.

Yes, The Funky Frog has always been green, from the color of his skin to the recycling of your children's items and maternity clothing. But now The Frog is stepping up our efforts to save Mother Earth. We are implementing some simple changes in the store such as reusing grocery and shopping bags to return your unsold item to you, recycling any plastic or drycleaner hangers you bring in and separating our paper waste for recycling - which has reduced our garbage from 2-3 bags a week to just ONE bag in the past 2 weeks!

Now you can participate with our "No Bag, Please" program. Bring in your own shopping bag or carry out your purchases without using a store bag and you will be given a token to put in one of three charity containers. For each token, The Funky Frog will donate 5 cents to the charity of your choice.

The three charities for July through December are Leader Dog for the Blind (http://www.leaderdog.org/), Rochester Area Neighborhood House (http://www.ranh.org/) and Michigan Humane Society - Rochester (http://www.michiganhumane.org/)
